National Heritage Project
The Tairawhiti Museum is set to embark on a major fundraising exercise to implement the next stage of the Tairawhiti National Heritage Project. The project has its origins in an initiative of the museum to recognise the heritage significance of the area surrounding the mouth of the Turanganui River in Gisborne. The project was formally endorsed by the Gisborne District Council in December 2002 and substantial progress has been made since then. read more...
