About the Curator

Tamara Patten, curator of this textile exhibition, worked at Tairawhiti Museum for three months in early 2009 as a Graduate Intern. The Graduate Internship Programme is jointly managed by Te Papa National Services, Museum Aotearoa, and the Museum Studies programmes at Massey University and Victoria University.

Tamara has an MA in Ancient History from Auckland University and has completed the Diploma in Museum Studies at Victoria University in Wellington. Her internship at Tairawhiti Museum was designed to rehouse the museumís hanging garment collection, update the information about the garments and transfer this information to the museumís computerised collection database. All the garments have been photographed and these images are included in the computerised records.
